(More customer reviews)I bought 8 of the smartkey locks. Two were smartcode (the number pad). BOTH of the pads went bad. One went bad w/in 6 months of purchase! The other after the ONE YEAR (on electronics) warranty was up (of course). Kwikset refused to replace. These are not cheap locks and you cannot count on Kwikset's poor customer service (which I will remember the next time its time to buy locks). I was treated like I was trying to cheat them out of a lock! If you live in Arizona or New Mexico where its dry and hot, the electronics in these pads may fare better. But for much of the US that experiences snow, driving rain etc (like me in Chicago) these locks w/ an electronic pad are NOT durable.
