(More customer reviews)I purchased the satin version of this product and applied it to an hand carved Redwood entry door and a large oak mounting board for a 50" dorado. The label indicates that under ideal conditions of 70ºF and 70% humidity(or less) that you can sand the finish preparatory for subsequent coats in about an hour.
My experience with both projects was that the finish dried to the touch rather rapidly, within 5-10 minutes, to where you could pick up the items with your hands without any risk of marring. I thinned it about 10% with water for spraying, and found that it sprayed similar to latex, yielding a slightly orangepeeled texture that actually was an attractive plus to the satin. The only negative I found is that, contrary to the labels claim, I could not sand the finish even after a day or two of drying in my dry New Mexico climate of 20-25% humidity. Instead, the finish rolled up under the sandpaper like latex and would load up the sandpaper. I found a partial solution to the issue by using a green Scotchbrite pad to prep the surface for the next coat, but that doesn't allow you to feather runs, sags or foreign chunks... for these you'll need to use sandpaper, which you will load up.
Adequate time has not passed for me to comment on durability, UV performance.
