The door installer advised us the Schlage brass handleset and deadbolt (identical to this one on sale) also had a lifetime no tarnish guarantee. Now it's all nasty looking with the plastic like film on the brass chipping off, and all the exposed brass is tarnished. Our front door gets very little use, as we enter and exit the house through the garage. I contacted the manufacturer, but since the door installer was the purchaser of the handleset, they couldn't help me.
I bought this handleset from Amazon to replace my front door hardware. The box did not include the handle latch that gets inserted into the side of the door before you install the handle. Nor did it include the deadbolt latch that also gets installed into the side of the door before you connect the front on rear parts of the deadbolt. The details about this product should have disclosed the lack of those two VITAL parts! I had to use the old parts to finish installing my door handleset and deadbolt!
