Front of doorhandle has key entry on front and the back has button to turn, to lock from the inside. Great looking door handle, in brushed steel. Looks lovely when installed and was very easy to install! My husband isn't into DIY and he managed to get this handle installed within about 15mins. The box says fits all doors, and it fitted ours perfectly (we're in Australia) but the door strike isn't one-size fits all, so you may have to keep this part of the door as is (the slot the door nib slides into when the door is closed, ours were larger, so the plates couldn't be replaced). Everything else was perfect.
